America’s life-changing Decision 08′
So, I’m starting to hear a lot on blog write-ups and on the radio about the current direction that our nation could be headed in should we elect the wrong person into presidency – both parties. Never in my life have I been more concerned with the future of our nation as I am now. Furthermore, never in my life have I been more undecided on such an important decision.
For me, it’s like this. Each adult is eligible to vote. For that vote, each person is directly and solely responsible for the direction that our nation goes, based on his or her vote. So, for me, I cannot stand behind a candidate that supports the idea of partial-birth abortions. In my opinion, this is extremist ideas, thoughts, and plans – plain and simple.
I certainly understand some people’s mindset behind this, such as possibly to protect the mother’s safety and life. I understand that there are instances where we have to do that, but this is an entirely different issue. I hear all kinds of different reasons for for pro-choice. In my opinion, these are rash justifications, presented very appealingly as giving “freedom”. Freedom? Is it freedom to the infant, who is forced to death – no choice? No. In a sense, the infant is enslaved to be born, and within seconds, be murdered and thrown in the dumpster, simply because his or her parents did not care enough to find him or her a home.
It is absolutely horrifying for me to begin to think of the direction that our nation could go if this was enacted. Should we elect someone who supports this idea, including further funding and resources, and then continues on to create other plans for more extremist acts and laws, there is no telling what our land will become.
The Constitution of the United States: http://www.usconstitution.net/const.txt
After being reminded of the Constitution, my thoughts on this issue are now as simple as this. Referencing the Constitution, if this issue of partial-birth abortion goes in the direction that I personally do not wish, it would mean that all taxpayers would then be required to financially support any partial-birth abortion clinics or doctors. It would also mean that we are not “creating all men equal”, no matter what age of “men”. Period. How can anyone negate this very clear fact? Seriously.
